TEACHERS, pupils and governors at a Gateshead school are celebrating a glowing report from a Government watchdog.
Dunston Hill Community Primary School was praised by the Office for Standards in Education (Ofsted), following a three-day inspection in July.
According to inspectors the school's success is due to the "excellent" leadership and management of the headteacher, Bill Foreman, and key staff at the school.
They had, said the report: "vision, rigour, attention to detail, and a genuine appreciation of the efforts of all who work in the school."
Standards in English, mathematics and science have improved significantly since the last inspection in 1997.
The school is in the top five per cent nationally for its standard in mathematics
