TEENAGE Argentinian prodigy Carlos Marinelli grabbed his first Boro goals to upstage Fabrizio Ravanelli as Steve McClaren's men ran riot against the Rams with an astonishing five-goal second-half blast.
On the day Italian hitman Ravanelli made his return to the Riverside, Marinelli confirmed his status as the new darling of the Boro faithful with a superb double strike in the 57th and 83rd minutes after sparking the breakthrough four minutes after half-time when his shot was only parried by keeper Mart Poom and Szilard Nemeth netted the loose ball.
The forlorn Ravanelli pulled one back from a free-kick a minute from time, but by then Boro were out of sight thanks to further goals from Alen Boksic, on the hour, and Robbie Mustoe in the 73rd minute.
