AN 11-YEAR-OLD East Cleveland schoolboy took home a UK trophy from the Home Pony International show in Cheshire.
Teams from England, Scotland, Ireland and Wales lined up to challenge each other in the finals, but there were also individual classes.
Daniel Neilson from Micklow Farm, Loftus, won the Paul Fabrications 128cm debut final on his six-year-old pony, Sligo Lucky. They were the only double clear in the class.
His trainer, Peter Allen from Stainsby Grange, said: "This is a new competition to the sport which is for either young children on older ponies or older ponies with younger kids.
"Daniel has been progressing exceptionally well all summer. He got Sligo Lucky last winter and found him a real handful because he was such a nervous animal.
"He and his mother, Christine, have worked hard to school him and calm him down and it has obviously paid dividends.
