Plymouth are taking the skies for next week's FA Cup tie at Whitby.

The Third Division leaders are flying to Teesside on Friday in preparation for the game, which kicks off at 1pm at the request of the BBC who expressed their concern at the brightness of the floodlights at the Turnbull Ground for their Match of the Day broadcast.

Plymouth are asking for fans to join the team on their travels at a cost of £295. Hotel accommodation for the Friday night is extra.

TV coverage will provide a boost to Whitby as they will pick up £40,000 for a 20 minute appearance, meaning their total income from the cup run will be almost £80,000, taking into account the prize money from previous rounds.

Manager Harry Dunn goes on a spying mission tonight on Plymouth.

Dunn will make the journey to Cheltenham, who are taking on Argyle in a Third Division game.

Whitby's UniBond League game at home to Blyth on Tuesday, has been postponed to give Whitby extra preparation time for the game against Argyle, who are unbeaten away in the league this season.

Bishop Auckland manager Tony Lee was full of praise for new boy Steve Salvin after his debut against Burton on Saturday.

Salvin was signed from Northern League club Easington the day before the game, and he didn't let Bishops down.

"Considering that he was thrown in at the deep end, he gave us a tremendous performance and scored a goal into the bargain."

Spennymoor defender Mark Taylor could be back in action within a fortnight.

Taylor has been out of action since he suffered a punctured lung over two months ago, and had to have an emergency operation in hospital.
