Brandon right back Anthony McStea is lined up for a trial at First Division club Wolves.

McStea, who was signed during the summer after being released by Middlesbrough, has been outstanding this season, and together with some of his team mates, has been watched by scouts from UniBond League clubs and above.

A date has yet to be set for his departure, but it could be next week.

Meanwhile, Lindoe is hoping that striker Andy Burton can return to action before Christmas. "We're struggling to score goals. He is a massive miss."

Shildon have placed striker Gary McDonald on the transfer list at his own request

McDonald was signed from Seaham Red Star two months ago, but despite scoring almost a goal per game, hasn't been first choice in Ray Gowan's promotion chasers.

"John Outhwaite and Nigel Bolton are doing really well for us at the moment, and Gary can't displace them from the starting line up.

"He's asked to go on the transfer list, because he feels that he should be playing regularly from the start."

Tow Law have transfer listed midfielders Darren Timmons and John Hale at their own request. "They're not playing regularly, and feel that they want a move," said manager Graeme Forster.

Billingham Town manager Alan Robinson is delighted with the signing of midfielder David Gallagher.

Gallagher announced he was leaving Bishop Auckland a fortnight ago, and Robinson won the race ahead of several clubs for his signature.

"He is a great signing for us, and I'm sure he'll do well in this league," said Robinson.

"He's got plenty of skill, and I'm sure he'll provide some of the ammunition for Paul Rowntree.

"He left Bishops because he was tired of the travel, and wanted to play nearer home."

Gallagher has signed a contract at Bedford Terrace.

Consett manager Colin Carr is full of praise for his skipper Jeff Sugden.

The defender returned from two months out through injury at Durham City on Saturday, and was one of the reasons why Consett picked up a useful point.

"Jeff is a big influence on the team," he said.

"He's a good captain, and gets the best out of those around him.

"He's got plenty of experience, and that will help the young players in the team."

Carr also welcomed back Johnny Brown and Dave Gray into his defence at Durham, and thought that they were one of the main factors in their morale-boosting 1-1 draw.

Guisborough manager Steve Corden has revealed how he signed midfielder Chris Leadbitter - he went to the same school.

Leadbitter played in the Football League for several years, and one of his last clubs was Plymouth Argyle, for whom he played against Darlington in the 1996 play off final.

"Chris and I went to the same school, and we've known each other for several years," said Corden.

"He comes from Teesside, and when I heard that he was back in the area, I asked him if he wanted to play for us, and he agreed."

Bedlington joint manager Tony Lowery has revealed that the FA vase is the Terriers' top priority this season.

Bedlington were knocked out of the FA Cup last week by Stalybridge, but now they have their sights set on the Vase, in which they lost in the final two years ago.

"We've got to be positive about going out of the FA cup," said Lowery.

"We've done well to reach the last qualifying round, and we've made some money for the club.

"But we're right back in the thick of things now. The Vase is our top priority, and it's also realistic, whereas playing in the FA Cup is lovely.

"We believe that we're close to our top form again, and that we have a real chance of winning it this season."

Bedlington are one of several Northern League clubs in action tomorrow, when they go to Eccleshill.

Peterlee's appeal against the dismissal of Karl White for allegedly kicking the ball at a linesman is to be heard by Durham FA on Monday, November 19.

Billingham Synthonia have asked for a personal hearing at Durham FA regarding the much-publicised dismissal of a spectator by referee Steve Sunley in their FA Vase tie at Washington Nissan a fortnight ago.

Mr Sunley was due to officiate in Synners' away game at Washington on Wednesday night, but has been replaced.

Washington Nissan are going to be without goalkeeper Frank Johnson until at least Christmas because of a groin injury.

Manager Gavin Liddle said: "he's only got 40 per cent power when he's kicking the ball. He's played on it for a few weeks, hoping that the pain will ease off, but it hasn't. He will have to go and see a specialist."

Johnson has been replaced by Warren Broadbent, who did well in their 2-1 win on Saturday at Northallerton.

Durham City manager Brian Honour has revealed that he had a "clear the air" meeting with his players after their disappointing 1-1 draw with Consett last Saturday.

City have yet to produce a meaningful challenge for the title, and Honour said: "I wanted an open and frank discussion with the players, and I wanted them all to have an input.

"I think everybody got a lot out of the meeting, and it was very positive.

"Saturday's Vase game is big for us. We've shown that we can play cup tie football this season - our problem is that not only are we capable of beating anybody, we can lose to anybody as well."

Honour asked his assistant, Derek Bell to play on Saturday because of injuries at New Ferens Park, and he said: "Even though he's 37-years-old, he showed loads of enthusiasm and desire, which is what we've been lacking sometimes this season."

Crook secretary Alan Stewart says that there are only 150 copies left of the History of Crook Town AFC. Details are available from Alan at 8 East Bridge Street, Crook, Co Durham.
