Jack Jobson Memorial Final - Eddie Rhodes of Spennymoor was presented with the Jack Jobson Memorial Cup by Joan Jobson, Jack's widow, after he beat John Hall of Crowtrees in the Final, played at Tow Law.

Eddie Rhodes was giving away thirty points per frame but got into his stride early in the first frame to close the gap. In the second frame Eddie was never allowed to get in and John steadily increased his lead until Eddie resigned on the yellow. The third frame became very tight but eventually Eddie potted himself into the position that John needed a snooker on the final blue. The required snooker was laid with the cue ball tight against the black. Eddie missed with the ball going into the pocket leaving John a choice of position to pot the blue, which as in a good position in baulk. John tried a deep screw to get on the pink but missed the pot and Eddie gratefully cleared the table.

The fourth frame was again very tight but looked good for Eddie with a tight snooker on the yellow. However John escaped and laid a successful snooker himself, following up to move ahead where Eddie needed a snooker with only the pink and black left. However John went for an ambitious pot on the pink and despaired when the cue ball went into the pocket. Eddie took the gift and potted the pink and black to clinch his 3-1 victory.
