A DIY store which created 40 jobs opened in Sunderland yesterday.
The Homebase store, in Silksworth Lane, celebrated by offering customers a ten per cent discount.
Opening in time for Christmas, the store offers a range of festive gifts and decorations, plus DIY requirements.
Manager Philip Prince said: "My team and I look forward to welcoming customers."
