A MILITARY band will be in the region later this week in a campaign to recruit more young musicians.
The Band of Her Majesty's Royal Marines Scotland will be offering young musicians aged 16 to 28 the chance to join.
The band is not only a military one, but also an orchestra and dance band, covering a repertoire of jazz, pop and classical, as well as big band and folk, at venues as diverse as HMS Ark Royal and Wembley Stadium.
The band will play at the MetroCentre in Gateshead on Thursday and will be visiting schools around the region in an effort to boost their numbers
