Darlington's impressive reserve side will be hoping to register another win tonight when Stoke City's second-string visit Feethams.

The Quakers are currently riding high in Division One of the Avon Insurance League, above some clubs whose first-teams compete in the top two divisions of the Nationwide League, and last week walloped the leaders, Walsall.

The Saddlers came to Feethams on the back of a six-game winning run but goals from Steve Harper, David McGurk, Mark Sheeran and 17-year-old Australian, Russell Waller, gave Gary Bennett's side a well-deserved 4-0 win.

Having been promoted to Division One of the reserve league in 2000 under Bennett, who since stepping down as first-team manager is in charge of the reserves once more, Darlington have this term beaten Stockport County, Bury and Stoke City, while York City and Shrewsbury Town have also been defeated.

Included tonight will be Neil Maddison, Brian Healy, Adam Rundle, Kirk Jackson, Paul Campbell, Steve Harper, Mark Sheeran and Gary Pearson.

Darlington fans travelling to Alrincham for Quakers' FA Cup tie must pay on the gate - no terrace tickets are available from the Feethams club while Quakers have already sold all of their seating allocation, which had been available in advance.

The game will be played at the UniBond club's Moss Lane ground and not Moss Rose, which is the home of Macclesfield Town.

The game has been switched to a 1pm kick-off as the BBC are to screen extended highlights on Match of the Day but Moss Lane's floodlights are not strong enough for the television cameras.

Meanwhile, Plymouth Argyle have snapped up former Darlington winger Neil Heaney following his release from Scottish Premier League club Dundee United.

The 30-year-old left Feethams in the middle of last year in a £175,000 transfer but has been a peripheral figure at Tannadice and will link-up again with Paul Sturrock, who took the Middlesbrough-born midfielder to Scotland.
