SECRETARY Alison Dover reported excellent entries for the BSPS Area 3A show at Northallerton equestrian centre, where her daughter Sarah won the Heritage large section novice working hunter in her first outing on her new mount Champra.

Chloe Straker, niece of international event rider Karen Dixon, took the medium section with Brenmore Craddogm, ahead of Danielle Waterhouse and Northlight Versace.

The small section went to Jordan Thompson on Oakhouse Antur Mai, while Elaine Ransome and Silver Ted won the open section, ahead of Libby Soley on Heatley Charlie Bubble.

The latter took the open nursery stakes from Alex Farrar-Fry on the Cumbrian bred Dartmoor pony Tamborough Red Dragon.

Alex was reserve champion in the novice working hunter championship, which was won by Anneliese Stonehouse on Mayeath Royal Blessing.

Matthew Cooper and Hurstead Jenny Wren won the novice nursery stakes, while Richmond rider Emily Stead took three second placings with Blazeby Allegro.

Rachel Stokes scored a double win with Astella and Parks Girlies Set, while Cornelia Papiez started her winter campaign by taking the mini championship with the four-year-old Crabfield Dinah Ariodante. Reserve went to Hannah Atkinson and Dryfe Sceptre Song.

The show hunter tricolour went to Lauren Gill with Rhyllandell Amber Dawn, ahead of Ripon's Lynsey Cox on Knowle Song and Dance Man, bred by the area's chairman Anne Furness.

Rebecca Baldwin had a double win with Total Eclipse and Dorlyn Monarch, while Phillipa Hammond took a first ridden victory with Brandsby Aries, ahead of Jessica Field on Megland Dewdrop.

Elwick rider Jennifer Cowan won the Heritage novice on Boston Buds of Spring.
