Two players have been allowed to leave Darlington with manager Tommy Taylor letting Frank van der Geest and striker Kirk Jackson walk through the Feethams exit door.

Although Jackson has only left on a temporary basis, reserve keeper van der Geest was told by Taylor earlier this season that he'd be allowed to leave if he found himself a club and the Dutchman went on trial at several clubs in his home country.

Although no clubs wanted him immediately, a handful were interested in taking him at the beginning of the next season with Telstar particularly interested.

He has left by mutual consent, leaving a vacancy on the substitutes bench which will be filled by Keith Finch.

Misfit Jackson has been farmed out on loan to Nationwide Conference outfit Stevenage Borough after failing to impress since arriving from Worksop Town last March.

Much was expected of the 25-year-old after he notched 40 goals in seven months in the UniBond League last season, but his woeful scoring record at Darlington reads just one goal in 26 appearances.

Jackson's Feethams career has looked bleak since he missed a header in front of goal with the goal at his mercy at Kidderminster in the FA Cup in November, after which Taylor said Jackson's attempt was akin to "Touche Turtle".

And at Bristol Rovers ten days ago - when Quakers were hit by a suspension and injury crisis - Jackson didn't even merit a place on the bench. He played the last 15 minutes during Steveage's defeat at Nuneaton on Saturday.

* Tickets for Quakers' FA Cup tie at home to Peterborough next Tuesday are selling fast and supporters are advised to secure their ticket as soon as possible. Although fans can pay on the gate, with a game against Newcastle awaiting the winners, demand to see the game is expected to be high.

However, Posh supporters, who had been allocated the South Terrace, have now been moved into the West Stand freeing up much-needed room for home fans.

A statement from Feethams read: "Darlington supporters who have purchased tickets for the West Stand are requested to return their ticket to the shop and exchange it for a South Terrace ticket. We apologise for any inconvenience. However Darlington FC feel that it would be advantageous to the club and to the team to utilise the ground to gain its maximum home support."

Club shop opening hours are 10am-5pm (Monday-Friday) and 10am-1pm on Saturdays.

Darlington's friendly at Durham City, arranged for last night, was postponed yesterday afternoon due to a frozen pitch.

Because of the first team's inactivity over recent weeks, Taylor had intended to give his squad a run-out ahead of Saturday's trip to Kidderminster.

After a good start to the season, Darlington's reserve side take on Lincoln at Feethams tonight (7pm) looking to recover from Monday's 3-0 defeat at Bury.
