PARENTS are being encouraged to learn more about the dangers of drug-taking among youngsters by attending an event being staged next week.
They are being invited to a drugs awareness evening, in Northallerton town hall next Wednesday, from 7pm to 9pm.
The event is part of a joint campaign by the Hambleton Community Safety Partnership and the Hambleton and Richmondshire Drug and Alcohol Reference Group.
The main speaker, David Uffindall, of North Yorkshire County Council, will be providing information on the risks and effects of drug-taking for young people.
The meeting is open to all adults and to accompanied children over 12 years of age.
