THE Chuckle Brothers took time out from their busy pantomime schedule to launch this year's Marie Curie Cancer Care Daffodil Campaign.

Paul and Barry Chuckle, who are starring in the pantomime Aladdin at the Civic Theatre, Darlington, encouraged everyone to support the cancer charity.

They said: "This is a very important fundraising campaign for Marie Curie Cancer Care. Everyone can support this vital cause this year by buying and wearing a Marie Curie Daffodil to show you care."

The Chuckle Brothers are known for their support of Marie Curie Cancer Care and have appeared in the charity's magazine.

Carol Oliver, community fundraising manager for the charity, said: "I have been a Chuckle Brothers fan for some years now, so having the opportunity to meet my heroes has made this year's Daffodil Campaign launch very special indeed for me."

As part of the campaign, artificial daffodils will be on sale during March in supermarkets and streets throughout the North-East, with all the proceeds going to the charity.

Volunteers are needed to sell the flowers in County Durham, North Teesside, Sunderland and South Tyneside.
