A BODY has been discovered in the River Skerne at Darlington.
Police and the fire brigade were called to the riverside next to the Red Barn households goods shop, off Russell Street, shortly after 3.45pm.
Two fire engines from the nearby Darlington station were called and a boat crew from Bishop Auckland were called to the scene, which has been cordoned off.
