A CHARITY is urging people to take part in a firewalk challenge.
St Cuthbert's Hospice, in Durham, is inviting people to impress their friends and colleagues by walking barefoot across 20ft of burning coals.
The challenge will take place in the hospice grounds, at Park House Road, Merryoaks, on March 8. Participants are asked to obtain sponsorship.
It will be preceded by a two-hour training session in which people will be mentally prepared.
All funds raised will be used to provide free specialist palliative care for people with life-threatening illnesses in Durham, Chester-le-Street, Spennymoor and surrounding villages.
