FIREFIGHTERS throughout North Yorkshire will be getting audiences a little hot under the collar when they perform a Full Monty-style routine to raise funds for a sick youngster.
Four-year-old Rosie Henry suffers from a rare neurological disorder which affects her movement, speech and eating.
Her parents, Richard and Diane, of Romanby, near Northallerton, have set up a trust fund to raise the £35,000 needed to create a specially-equipped en-suite bedroom to make Rosie's life more comfortable.
And this year, firefighters across the county are pulling out all the stops to support their colleague, Mr Henry, who is based at Harrogate station.
Fundraising events in the pipeline include a Full Monty-style cabaret evening, featuring sizzling routines similar to those in the hit film, on February 21, at Club Amadeus, Northallerton. Tickets are available on (01609) 780150.
A bric-a-brac sale will also be held at Northallerton fire station on Saturday, February 2, and a sponsored run from Northallerton to Scarborough will be staged in March.
Anyone wanting to support Rosie can contact the trust fund at 17 Grassington Avenue, Northallerton, North Yorkshire, DL7 8SY.
