LADY Sylvia Crathorne used colourful daffodils to highlight this Spring's annual fund raising campaign by the Marie Curie cancer charity.
She is the organisation's North Yorkshire patron and the publicity event was held at her Crathorne home on Monday.
"I am a great believer in the charity's work," she emphasised.
"Marie Curie nurses do very, very important work which allows cancer patients to stay at home, if the wish. They also work closely with Macmillan nurses and, between them, they provide care throughout the day and night. It is a wonderful service.
"My mother died from cancer but she was beautifully looked after at home by Marie Curie nurses," she added.
A number of fundraising events will be held across the region in coming weeks and months. More details are to be announced.
