Two first half goals from Cattermole and Head gave Lingdale United enough of a lead to take the points at the expense of Anchor Inn.

Wild managed to pull back a goal for Anchor in the second half but Lingdale held on for the rest of the game.

Meanwhile, Grangetown, after their unexpected defeat last week were back in form against Boosbeck United. Cochrane opened the scoring after ten minutes followed 15 minutes later by a second from Robinson. Just before half time Boosbeck scored. The second half was dominated by Grangetown. Substitutions paid dividends with some good work making a second goal for Robinson with five minutes left. McLouglin netted to put the game out of Boosbeck's reach.

Brotton travelled to take on Staithes and proved up to the task. A Kevin Solomon hat-trick and a fourth from Keegans secured a 3-4 victory. Crossman netted for Staithes and they came back into the game with goals from subs Best and Hodgson, but Brotton defended well to hold on to the lead. With a strong wind at their backs Great Ayton took the game to Hinderwell. Good midfield work by Leng and Milburn allowed Ayton to control the game. Numerous goal opportunities were created by Ayton but the finishing touch could not be found by their forward. New signing Billy Spears hit the post following a goalmouth scramble and Hinderwell's keeper Matthew Sanderson made some fine saves. In the second half Hinderwell took command. Ayton could only attack on the break and found it difficult to create many chances. Paul Clennan was rewarded for tireless running in 65 minutes when he slipped the ball past the advancing Ayton keeper Stuart Readman.

Philip Makin was dominant in the Ayton defence.

Redcar Mackinlay Park versus Highland Laddie game saw Highland Laddie with the advantage. Good work after ten minutes by Adam Booth saw his cross cleared where Martyn Nesbitt's volley flew over the bar. Continued pressure saw Brown put Booth in but his shot whistled wide.

Occasional breaks by Mackinlay Park saw Nick Ayres' effort go wide. The home defence held firm against relentless pressure but deadlock was broken by a cross from Booth flew into the top corner. The second half started with pressure from Mackinley Park producing several corners and shots but no goals. On the hour Jamieson in Laddie goal made a point blank save from Gibbons. a

Mackinlay Park came back as they pressed forward for the equaliser and finished the game well on top with nothing to show for it.

In an even first half Whitby held a slender 1-0 lead thanks to a 15th minutes goal from Winspear. In the second half Lealholm began on top and created problems for Whitby's keeper who struggled to cope with the sun in his eyes.

On the hour Harland levelled against the run of play. Marchmant settled for Whitby and Lealholm allowed their heads to drop and Whitby took advantage. Roberts made sure of a Whitby victory in the 80th minute to give them the points in a game of few chances.
