A FRIENDS group has raised £287 for local hospitals through a coffee afternoon.
The Friends of Durham Hospitals raised the sum at Durham Town Hall, on Saturday, January 19, as part of its ongoing support for Earls House Hospital, The County Hospital and the University Hospital of North Durham.
Valerie Richardson, chair of the Friends, said: "The coffee afternoon was a big success, and was very well attended.
"The money raised will be used to buy an activity table to be used by children in the medical physics department, at the University Hospital of North Durham."
