A MAN raped a teenager who had been drinking after she staggered to his house to use the toilet, a court heard yesterday.
Dennis Coleman, 19, attacked the 14-year-old when she called at his home in Stanley, County Durham, after drinking with friends in nearby woods.
Anne Richardson, prosecuting, told Newcastle Crown Court: "She left the toilet and went to the defendant's bedroom. She did not know what she was doing and she kept falling off the bed.
"The Crown say the defendant took advantage of this young, slight, vulnerable and intoxicated girl."
The defendant was arrested and told police he had kissed the girl after she had kissed him first, but denied having sex with her.
Mr Coleman, of Kimberley Gardens, Stanley, denies rape, attempted rape and unlawful sexual intercourse with a girl under 16.
The trial continues
