POLICE are warning women walking along a city's riverbanks to beware following a daylight sex attack.
The warning comes after an unnamed 20-year-old was indecently assaulted on Dur-ham's Prebends Bridge on Monday lunchtime.
The attack, which left the woman badly shaken, happened at 12.30pm in the shadow of Durham Cathedral, af-ter she was approached from behind by a teenager.
Inspector Mick Nail, of the city's CID, said there had been a number of attacks in the area in the last few months.
The attacker was described as being in his mid-teens, 5ft 7in tall, of stocky build, with brown hair. He wore blue jeans and a white sweatshirt, and had a carrier bag thought to contain bread.
