The search for a missing 58-year-old man took a new twist today when his car was found in a remote village on the North York Moors.
Graham Waugh left his home in North Cave, East Yorkshire, early last Sunday morning to visit a relative and has not been seen since.
It has now emerged that his car, a grey Ford Escort, was discovered in the Heartbeat village of Goathland. There was no sign of Mr Waugh and relatives said they could not think of any reason why he would visit North Yorkshire.
North Yorkshire Police are now working with Humberside Police and are making extensive searches of the Goathland area. Checks are also being made at local hotels and guest houses.
Anyone who has seen Mr Waugh - who is about 5ft 10in tall, of medium build, with short dark hair and a fair complexion - should contact Humberside Police on (01482) 578200.
