Rotarians have raised £200 to enhance care for cancer patients.

Marie Curie Cancer Care's local community fundraising manager, Carol Oliver, and co-ordinator Linda McDonough, received a cheque from Darlington Rotary Club president, Lakhindar Singh to help the charity's daffodil appeal.

OPEN DAY: St James the Great Church, Albert Hill, Darlington, is holding an open day on Saturday, April 6, with sponsored organ playing, from 9am to 4pm.

ROAD CLOSURE: Houndgate, in Darlington town centre, will be closed from the junction of Beaumont Street to Bull Wynd for five days from Sunday.

CHURCH SERVICES: Easter celebrations at All Saints and Salutation Church, Blackwell, Darlington, start today at 9am with Holy Communion, followed at 10.30am with a family service. At 2pm there will be an ecumenical service at St Mary's Church, Piercebridge.

BLOOD DONORS: People can give blood at Elm Ridge Methodist Church, Carmel Road South, Darlington, on Monday, April 8, from 3pm to 7pm.

SIGN PLAN: Primelight Advertising has applied for permission from Darlington Borough Council to display an internally illuminated, double-sided, free-standing advertisement at Haughton Road Service Station, Darlington.

PROBUS CLUB: Darlington Probus Club will meet at the Arts Centre on Monday, April 8.
