THREE bus drivers have moved up in the ranks to take responsibility for some of the region's largest bus depots.

Martin Hughes has been appointed depot manager at Go Gateshead's Winlaton depot.

He said: "The training provided by Go North East has given me the confidence to take on greater responsibility, and it is clear that anyone who joins the company as a driver can aim to progress if they are willing to work hard."

John Morris, who began working with Go North East as a driver at Washington depot, has been appointed divisional assistant with Go Gateshead.

Go Coastline's Percy Main depot has been taken over by Graeme Agnew, who now has responsibility for more than 120 staff and more than 80 vehicles operating routes throughout North Tyneside.

Mr Agnew said: "When I started at Go North East as a driver I did not expect to one day be running my own depot.

"The company has been quick to reward staff who want to progress, and I'm looking forward to the challenges ahead."
