SATURDAY - BEST FACTUAL

Those House Detectives At Large (BBC2, 8.10pm) tackle the challenge of saving a villa outside Calcutta that was once the home of Clive of India. What they find surprises even these experienced investigators.

BEST DRAMA

Tony Parsons's best-selling novel Man And Boy (BBC1, 9pm) becomes a TV movie starring Ioan Gruffudd, already seen this week in Hornblower and who's in The Forsyte Saga next week. He has to learn to be a single father and look after his young son when his wife leaves. Ian McShane, Pauline Collins and Jack Shepherd also star.

BEST US SERIES

The first four episodes of the US thriller series 24 (BBC2, 9pm) are repeated back-to-back so those who've missed the story so far can catch up. Kiefer Sutherland's agent must thwart an assassination attempt on a presidential candidate and rescue his kidnapped daughter.

BEST DOCUMENTARY

Robbie Williams: Nobody Someday (C4, 9pm) is a behind the scenes documentary, which surfaced briefly in cinemas a few months ago, following the former Take That singer's European tour. Williams talks candidly about the problems of being a music star.

SUNDAY

BEST FILM

The third in the James Bond series, Goldfinger (ITV, 3pm), is the favourite of many people. Ex-Avengers star Honor Blackman's Pussy Galore gives Sean Connery's 007 a run for his money. Director Guy Hamilton also helms The Mirror Crack'd (C4, 3.15pm), a star-stuffed Agatha Christie whodunit.

BEST FACTUAL

Richard Harris once played King Arthur in the musical Camelot, which apparently makes him ideal to present Arthur - King Of The Britons (BBC1, 7.25pm). The programme attempts to present the "real" Arthur, although the legendary one may well be more interesting.

BEST US SERIES

Will Josh pull through in The West Wing (C4, 9pm)? As we wait, we get to see how members of the Presidential political staff like CJ and Toby came to work together. The search for those responsible for the assassination bid continues.

BEST DOCUMENTARY

The South Bank Show (ITV, 11.05pm) tells the story of Johnnie Ray, a British teen idol from the early 1950s who is largely forgotten today. This profile includes contributions from the Beverly Sisters, Michael Grade and Tony Bennett.
