Oxford United 1 : Hartlepool United 2 - Efion Williams scored his first two goals in a Hartlepool United shirt on Saturday afternoon to clinch victory over Oxford United at the Kassam Stadium.
Williams, a £30,000 capture from Torquay United, superbly smashed home his first on 12 minutes after Gordon Watson had played him in.
And 12 minutes later Williams, making his full debut, headed in his second after more good work from Watson.
Oxford pulled one back with 33 minutes gone through striker Paul Moody, but Pools' early strikes proved enough to keep their faint play-off hopes alive.
