Injured and stranded fell walkers continue to be rescued from the bleak North York Moors partly due to the generosity of the late Queen Mother.
She donated £1,000 to help keep Cleveland Search and Rescue team's LandRover ambulances on the road. Spokesman Peter Mounsey said: "This gracious lady will always be remembered for helping us out in times of need.
