POLICE are investigating after an arson attack on a pitch and putt hut and shared changing room block at the Prissick Base, in Marton, Middlesbrough, at the weekend.

Firefighters said the building was well alight when they arrived and that 90 per cent of the single-storey structure was destroyed. A Cleveland Police spokesman said: "There was substantial damage caused. It is being investigated by us."

Witnesses to the blaze, which occurred just before 10pm, on Saturday, are asked to ring police on (01642) 303126.
