TWO people died in a late-night accident when their car went out of control on a road in North Yorkshire.
Police discovered the red J-registered Vauxhall Astra in a field off the A63, a quarter-of-a-mile from the outskirts of Hambleton, near Selby.
The driver and passenger had been thrown from the vehicle as it left the carriageway and both sustained fatal injuries.
The scene of the crash was discovered between 10.30pm and 11.05pm on Sunday and police are keen to speak to any witnesses.
A police spokesman said the car was travelling from the direction of Monk Fryston when it went out of control on a left-hand bend, left the road on the offside, and ended up in a field.
Anyone travelling along the A63 who may have seen the vehicle is asked to contact Traffic Constable Richard Gatecliffe on (01904) 669727.
