A MAN admitted a charge of causing death by dangerous driving at Teesside Crown Court, yesterday.

Habib Khan, 23, of Newlands Road, Middlesbrough, pleaded guilty to causing the death of Shamraz Khan on May 10, last year.

The court heard Habib Khan was driving a Nissan Sunny car on the A58, between Wetherby and Leeds, when the crash happened.

The dead man was a family friend and the pair were on their way to Leeds when the accident took place.

Alan Wolstenholme, for Khan, asked for an adjournment for pre-sentence and medical reports to be prepared. He said Khan had suffered injuries in the crash which left him with memory problems.

Judge Peter Fox QC adjourned the case for four weeks and remanded Khan in custody.
