A MAN in his 30s and a teenage boy were recovering in hospital yesterday after one fell from a tree and the other through the roof of a school.

The 13-year-old was thought to have been skateboarding on the roof of the primary school in Colburn, North Yorkshire, on Saturday when he crashed through a skylight, falling about 20ft.

The youngster was semi-conscious when he was taken to the Friarage Hospital, in Northallerton, with head injuries.

He was later transferred to Middlesbrough General Hospital.

The man fell from a tree in an accident witnessed by his son, on Saturday.

Passers-by reported seeing him apparently demonstrating to the youngster how to retrieve a blue bag from the branches of the tree, in Millgate, Thirsk, North Yorkshire.

An ambulance was called to the incident and the man was taken to the Friarage Hospital, complaining of pain in his back.
