PARTNERSHIP MEETING: A recent Crook Community Partnership meeting was told by PC Graham Milne that there had been three house burglaries, 15 public disorder offences, eight thefts of motor vehicles and 22 cases of criminal damage in the Crook area in the previous month.

David Craggs, community network co-ordinator, said he would be trying to get more groups involved in the community network through the partnership.

Durham county councillor Bob Pendlebury said two closed-circuit television cameras would be installed at the top of Hope Street, near Robinson's shop, and opposite the Mill House pub.

Secretary David Neil said Crook History Society was taking on responsibility for the heritage walk for disabled people and was looking for people to help and plan the next Christmas lights display.

DANCE NIGHT: Greyhound Express, a Scottish line dancing band, will entertain at the Elite Hall, Crook, on Friday, at 7.30pm.

COMPUTER SESSIONS: Free computer and Internet taster sessions are being held at Crook library on Mondays, from 10am to 11am, beginning on April 22.

To book a session contact library staff. The library will also be holding story sessions for under-fives every Thursday, at 9.30am, from April 18.

FOOTBALL SHOW: Crook Town AFC presents Trevor Sewell and Graham Russell at the social club on Friday, at 8.30pm. Tickets costing £2 are available from the club or at the door.
