A YOUNG rally driving enthusiast saw his dream come true - when a high-performance sports car was delivered to his front door.

Three-year-old Charlie Ridgewell, who has suffered heart and lung problems since he was born prematurely, had an action-packed time after his parents took delivery of a Ford Focus identical to that driven by the British champion, Colin McRae.

The car was brought to the family home in Swinton, near Malton, by Polar Ford, of York, for the weekend.

Charlie's mother, Heidi Ridgewell, said: "I couldn't believe it when they offered us the car for the weekend - I only emailed them to ask if I could have some stickers to decorate Charlie's bedroom.

"Charlie was beside himself when it arrived. He just went really quiet and was shaking with excitement.
