DARRELL Clarke insists there will be no hangover for Hartlepool United - and they are now ready to turn the tables on Cheltenham, writes Nick Loughlin.

Alate equaliser pegged Pool back to a 1-1 draw at home to Cheltenham on Saturday.

But Pool head for the West Country this morning full of belief that they will be at Cardiff's Millennium Stadium for the Third Division play-off final next Monday.

"It's a real Cup tie now, we are all level and it's all to play for,'' he said. "We don't have to lift anyone for this game; look at our last six games - won five, drawn one so we go there full of confidence.

"Obviously we are a bit disappointed we didn't hold on, but why bother going there if we don't think we can win?

"We outplayed them in the League for 40 minutes down there and in that game they came at us a little bit more than they did on Saturday so we know we will get chances.''

And Clarke revealed that confidence within the camp remains as high as ever.

"Obviously when you are one-up and near the end of the game you expect to win, but this wasn't to be,'' he said. "But the confidence is still high among the lads. They are a very difficult team to play against. They played five across midfield and it was a difficult game. The game could be a bit more open and I don't think there are many better teams than us on the counter attack.

"I don't think we were too surprised with them playing five across the middle - there's always some sort of surprise in team selection in games like this. They had to play it tight, but they have some good players and that's why they finished fourth in the league.''
