Northallerton College has been celebrating after winning two area football trophies in less than a week.

The under-15 team lifted the Hambleton and Richmondshire cup after an exciting final in Northallerton just five days after the college's under-16s won the equivalent trophy in the higher age group.

The under-15 side beat Easingwold School 4-3 in a hard-fought cup final which went to extra time.

Richard Whincup put Northallerton ahead, but Easingwold equalised before half-time. Dan Almond restored the lead, but Easingwold again came back to level the score.

Again Northallerton went ahead through Simon Dodsworth, but a defensive mistake let in Easingwold to even things up at 3-3 at full time.

Northallerton's Philip Holdsworth finally scored the golden goal winner in the last minute of extra time.

In a separate competition, Northallerton College are through to the final of the under-15 North Yorkshire county cup.
