HARTLEPOOL United will offer new deals to defenders Chris Westwood and Paul Arnison today.

But Northern Echo Sport can reveal that Pool goalkeeper Martin Hollund and striker Anth Lormor's days at Victoria Park are over.

All four players' contracts run out next month and it is understood only two of the quartet will be handed new deals.

It has always been expected Westwood, 25, would be given new terms after being a regular in manager Chris Turner's promotion seeking side. But Arnison's future was less certain.

The right wing-back has been unable to command a place in Pool's starting line-up but when he has been called upon he has performed well.

It is thought that 24-year-old Arnison, who scored his side's only goal at Cheltenham on Tuesday night, has been offered a 12-month extension to his current deal.

Hollund, 27, and Lormor, 31, are now both heading for pastures new.

Goalkeeper Hollund, who joined the club nearly five years ago from Brann Bergen, is likely to return to his native Norway after being unable to force out first-choice Anthony Williams in the Pool goal.

Lormor, on the other hand, could find himself taking on Turner's men next season after two campaigns at Victoria Park.

The much-travelled front-man - he has been at nine clubs - enjoyed a loan spell at Shrewsbury in mid-February and has been reportedly attracting interest from Swansea.

Turner is also hoping to get top-scorer Gordon Watson to sign a more permanent contract.

The 31-year-old striker, who has scored 18 goals for Pool, is believed to have been offered one of the highest contracts in the club's history, but it is unclear whether the experienced front-man will commit his future to Pool.

Since signing for Pool last September he has continued to live in Portsmouth, train with the First Division club and fly up to Pool in time for Saturday's game, an arrangement both parties have been happy with.

Meanwhile, Turner last night indicated that he does not believe too much tweaking needs to be done to his side to guarantee automatic promotion next season.

The Pool chief, who experienced play-off heartache for the third successive campaign this week, admits he could bring players in but he is confident in the squad he has already assembled.

He said: "I believe we have a squad of players at this club who can win promotion.

"They have shown over the past five months just what they are capable of and I think we should be looking at the top three when it all starts again.

"I don't expect a lot of movement with either players coming in or out - I'm convinced the players here are good enough.

"If I am to bring players in the timing has to be right and there's no need to panic after missing out this time around."
