Sedgefield Borough Council, in conjunction with the Positive Youth Project, will be showing the Harry Potter film in Sedgefield Parish Hall on Saturday, from 6.30pm to 8.30pm.

The show is among a number of initiatives which the Positive Youth Project will be piloting in the next few months to expand activities for young people in the village.

PARTNERSHIP MEETS: The next meeting of the Firthmoor Community Partnership Board will take place on Friday, May 17, in Firthmoor Community Centre, Burnside Road. The meeting will be followed by the partnership's annual meeting.

SPRING FAIR: A spring fair is being held in St Herbert's Church Hall, Yarm Road, Darlington, on Saturday, from 1.30pm to 3pm. Admission is free, with proceeds to the church.

FLAG DAY: A flag day in Darlington on April 20 raised £1,149 for the Macmillan Cancer Relief charity.

MOWER STOLEN: A Murray Sentinel petrol-driven ride-on lawnmower, worth £1,500, was stolen from the garage of a house between Sands Hall roundabout and Sedgefield Racecourse between 10am on Sunday and noon on Monday.

PIANO CONCERT: Bishop Auckland Music Society is presenting a piano recital by Jonathan Oshry on Friday, May 17, at Auckland Castle. CAR THEFT: A blue Ford Escort, registration G767 UNL, worth £400, was stolen from West Chilton Terrace, Chilton, between 10pm on Sunday and 9.30am on Monday.
