Teesside deputy coroner Gordon Hetherington recorded a verdict of misadventure after a man died of pneumonia following heart surgery.
George William Hayton, 80, of Garthorne Avenue, Darlington, developed pneumonia after a heart valve replacement operation in the James Cook University Hospital, Middlesbrough, and died on January 23 this year.
