Members of Darlington Harriers have been very busy over the last few weeks.

At the North East Track & Field championships, Emma Clifford had an outstanding weekend coming away with a silver medal in the Under-13 girls shot put, and a bronze in the Under-13 girls long jump. She also made the finals of the 100, 200, 800 and 1500 metres in an exhausting meeting for her.

Harry Singh is relentlessly pursuing his 100th marathon and has ticked off another three to bring his total to 95.

He ran the Shakespeare marathon in 3.59.30, the Sheffield marathon in 3.57.00 and the Leeds marathon in 3.54.44 all in a matter of four weeks.

John Brant ran the City of Durham 6.5 mile race on May 5 in 52mins.49secs.

Steve Dauber ran the Leeds half marathon in 2-24.29.

Martin Grainger ran the Wiggington 10 mile race in 56mins 09secs.

A good turnout from the club at the Thirsk 10 mile race saw Martin Grainger win the 1st vets prize and Paul Smith set a PB for the distance.

Jo Anne Short took part in the Great North triathlon at the Tees Barrage at the weekend and in very cold and wet conditions which saw a number of retirements and accidents in the tricky conditions. Jo Anne was the fifth senior woman home completing a 750 metre swim in 16mins 29secs, a 20kilometre bike ride in 43mins 20secs and a 5 kilometre run in 20mins 31secs and was the 2nd fastest on the run.
