A PRESENTATION of certificates to dedicated local people will launch Volunteers' week in Richmond.
Councillor Jane Metcalfe will present the National Centre for Volunteering certificates to 15 members of Richmondshire Volunteer Bureau, which recruits and places volunteers across the district.
The presentation will take place at Swale House on Friday next week, which is the first day of volunteers' week.
Alison Metcalfe, who is the organiser of the bureau, said: "Our volunteers are the unsung heroes of the community.
"I think it is vital we remember the many who give their time and skills to help others.
"Their contribution is incalculable. They are the glue that holds our community together," she said.
