AN elderly woman died last night after a collision with a car in Darlington town centre.
The 73-year-old woman suffered head and leg injuries in the accident, in Grange Road, at 12.45pm yesterday.
She died almost eight hours later in Darlington Memorial Hospital.
Police said she had been struck by a Rover car close to the junction with Polam Lane.
The driver and passenger in the car were unhurt.
Witnesses to the accident are requested to call police on 0191-386 4929.
