A £300 mountain bike was taken from Saracen Road, in Shildon, between 10am and 11.30am on Saturday. It had been left outside a shop with its wheels chained together.
Meanwhile, a silver Nokia 3330 mobile phone was stolen from a beige Ford Mondeo parked in Merrington View, Spennymoor, between 3pm and 3.15pm the same day.
Anyone with information is urged to call Newton Aycliffe police on (01325) 314401.
