A STRATEGY to tackle homelessness in Darlington has been backed by councillors.
Darlington Borough Council's homelessness and housing advice strategy will see those sleeping rough in the borough counted, monitored and analysed. The strategy was approved at a meeting on Thursday.
According to recent statistics, at some point during the past year 679 families or individuals claimed to be homeless in the town.
