Kevin Darley may have lost the upper hand to Kieren Fallon when it comes to the jockey's championship but there's little doubt he'll be giving 110 per cent until the end of the season.

And, after a three-timer at Ayr yesterday, the Yorkshire-based rider can be on the mark at the same track this afternoon with Pie High in the John Glass 80th Birthday Classified Stakes over seven furlongs.

Mark Johnston's filly is a really game and genuine sort and she comes here at the top of her game having run well in handicap company at Yarmouth last week.

That form looks strong enough to give her fair prospects in this company and, as she races up with the pace, she looks to have the best of the draw. She's also favoured by the weights and is taken to beat Paul Cole's Certain Justice, who may be ideally suited by a little bit shorter.

Cole, however, can be on the mark with Crafty Calling in the Bellisle Median Auction Maiden Stakes over six furlongs.

This good sort shaped well in a race that worked out well on his debut and that form looks stronger than that of his rivals.

Although not seen since, he's sure to be fit enough to do himself justice and there's almost certainly further improvement to come.

The Lady Isle Seller over seven furlongs looks a modest contest and, with Bodfari Pride ideally suited by shorter, the vote goes to course specialist Persian Fayre.

Alan Berry's runner is better than his form figures this year would imply but everything looks in place for a big run this time, especially as he could enjoy an easy lead.

He'll be a decent price, too and from his low draw he's taken to beat High Sun and Jeffrey Anotherred.

Linda Perratt's Rose Of America is also better than his form-figures of this year and he's taken to go close in the Highland Handicap over a mile.

Although well beaten at York last time he got messed about in the early stages and he's now on a favourable mark for this drop in grade.

Down at Yarmouth Plateau takes the eye in the Tote Credit Club Showcase Handicap over five furlongs.

Barry Hills' runner showed plenty of promise in two outings as a juvenile but pulled far too hard on his reappearance at Haydock earlier in the month.

The drop back to this trip should suit and, as he's only had the three runs and is a good sort physically, he's open to plenty of improvement.
