Tow Law Bass League: Hamilton Row Black Horse recovered in the last two doubles to edge through to victory on their visit to Stanley Earl Derby.

The home side took both trebles points but then only managed two singles when Stuart Lacy and Les Sanders won. The visitors had singles wins from David brown, Colin brown, Ray Hird and Mike Kennedy.

The leading individual scorers were M. Seaton 180 for the New Market A, C. Close 180 and R. Young and T. Cairns 140 each for the Royal Oak, C.A. Boughey, R. McFadden and M. Boughey 140 each for the Cattle Mart, l. Cullinan 140 for the Moss Inn, W. Anderson three 140's, L. Sanders senior 140 and L. Sanders junior 140 for the Earl Derby and K. Brown and D. Brown two 140's each and C. Elliss 140 for the Black Horse.

Hamilton Row Black Horse now lead the table by three points.

Wear Valley Ladies League

At the AGM ten teams entered the league for the coming season when the Chair/secretary, Irene C.S. Clark and treasurer, Kim Pritchard will continue in office. Committee members, Kathleen Reynolds and Joan Hodgson, will join them. The meeting thanked Joan hall for the work she has done as a member of the committee for the last three years.

The teams entered for the new season, which will begin on September 5, are Crook Bar 56, Crook Coach and Horses, Croft Social Club, Crook Golden Fleece, Crook King's Head, Crook Mill House, Oakenshaw, Howden Sunnydene Lodge, Crook Three Blue Bells and Crook White Swan.

Any other team interested in joining should contact the secretary on 01388 765651 on or before 7 August. The registration Meeting will be held in the Coach and Horses on Tuesday, 13 August, when all teams must be represented.
