Fosters Northumberland and Tyneside Senior League U18s

Burnopfield had 49 runs to spare when they visited Whickham who could only make 84 for five which included 22 by Chris Morton.

Jason Temperley took two of the wickets for only 16 runs and when Burnopfield batted first they ended with 133 for five. Ryan McVittie top scored with 38 and Paul Lumley contributed 29 while for Whickham Adam Ainley claimed two for 20 and Gavin Cree two for 35.

Greenside ended with 140 for four before bowling Chopwell out for just 54. Liam Hardy was in good form with the bat for Greenside scoring 66 and when Chopwell responded they found Redford, Linton and Ali all in good form with the ball. The three Greenside players all claimed a couple of wickets.

Consett met neighbours Shotley Bridge and won by by seven wickets. Batting first, the Bridge could only total 48 for eight as Shaun Tilton claimed five wickets for a meagre 11 runs. Ian Stewart led the Consett reply and his unbeaten 33 swept the Steelmen to a seven wickets victory.

Seven matches were called off because of the weather.

The Readers Durham County League U15s

Etherley fielding a severely depleted side, were all out for just 18 when they met Shildon. Tweddle with three for seven and Rowley, whose three wickets cost him just nine runs, were the bowlers responsible for Etherley's cheap dismissal before Shildon went on to win without conceding a wicket.

After posting 69 for four in their home game with Bishop Auckland, Mainsforth went down by seven wickets and Crook Town just had the edge on Ushaw Moor winning by six runs.

When they batted first, Crook ended with 77 f or six as Paul Facey reached two for ten, Peter Guy claimed two for 12 and Andrew Rafferty had two for seven.

Bowlers also dominated when Ushaw Moor responded and were all out for 71. Dalton took two for five, Walker two for 17 and Bowey three for ten.

At Langley Park, Esh Winning suffered a 12-runs defeat. When they made first use of the wicket Langley Park realised 108 for eight with most of the runs coming from Andrew Smith with 44 and Simon Moralee (25) , Scott Dodds had an excellent night with the ball for Esh Winning taking five for 31 runs.

Although Andy Wilson carried his bat for 52, Esh Winning managed only 96 for four with David Hughes claiming two for 22 runs in the Langley Park attack.

Premier Sports Durham Coast League U13

Ryhope made the formidable total of 154 for three before reducing Murton to 51 for nine. Greg Swansbury, who has already appeared in the Ryhope first team, led the way as he carried his bat for 65 and Jamie Whillans, added 29.

Replying, Murton could only total 51 for nine as Johnny Brett too two for just one run and Shane Bates ended with two for nine.

The Silksworth batsmen went one run better than Ryhope in making 155 for one against Castle Eden. Liam Malaburn finished undefeated on 49 and Craig Nield also carried his bat for 47. Scott Davison, with 43 was also in good form with the bat for Silksworth.

Responding, Castle Eden ended on 61 for six as Adam McGuire claimed two for 11 runs in two overs.

After making 94 for six which included 27 by Mattie Riches and 17 from Adam Wallace, Seaham Park dismissed Easington for 41. Riches captured three for three and Wallace two for five while Scott Abdale had two for 14 and James Ferguson two for nil. In the Easington attack Swainston picked up two for eight and Huggins three form 11.
