YOUNGSTERS have had a behind-the-scenes look a Premiership football club.
Fifteen, 13-year-olds had to answer a job advertisement, complete an application form and be interviewed for placements at Middlesbrough FC.
The successful eight girls and seven boys, who were selected from 60 initial applicants, first went on a two-day Outward Bound course on the North Yorkshire Moors for team building before being introduced to the commercial, catering and media and communications departments at the club's Riverside Stadium.
Education co-ordinator Rob Lake said: "This is a very exciting project to be involved in. We feel we are giving the students a real- life work experience from the application and interview to the insight of running the business side of the football club.
"The course has involved a number of partners working closely together. I am sure it will be a great success and something we will look to develop."
