A TEENAGER who has been missing from home for almost a month is believed to be living in the York area.

Claire Marie Watson, a 19-year-old, has been missing from her grandparents' home in Adwick-le-Street, near Doncaster, since July 8.

South Yorkshire Police believe she may be living in the York area with her boyfriend, and she is being urged to contact local police to confirm that she is safe.

Busking bonanza: Some of the region's best street musicians and performers will be entertaining crowds on Ripon market place next Saturday from 11am to 5pm. The city's first busking festival has attracted several popular acts.

COUNTRY DATE: Line dancing returns to Catterick Garrison next weekend when Double AA American Linedance and the country band The Gibsons perform at the Civil Service Club. The show starts at 7.30pm next Saturday. For ticket details, call (01748) 833844.

SHOW TIME: The Tockwith and District Show opens at 9am today, at Bilton Grange Farm, on the edge of Bilton-in-Ainsty between York and Wetherby. The programme includes demonstrations of rural arts and crafts, a farmers' market and art exhibition. At noon tomorrow, the Aldborough and Boroughbridge Show opens at Manor Farm on the edge of Milby. Attractions include a pet show, terrier and ferret racing and trade stands.

Coffee morning: The Elderberry Club in Kirkbymoorside is holding a coffee morning on Wednesday, August 14, from 10am to noon, in Church House. The event will raise money for club funds.

Drive date: A domino drive to raise money for Kirkbymoorside Brass Band will take place in the band room next Saturday, starting at 7.30pm.

VINTAGE RUN: Hundreds of vintage cars, vans and lorries roll into Harrogate tomorrow, after a testing drive from Manchester. The 32nd transpennine run concludes on the town's Stray from 11.30am.

AFRICAN SOUNDS: Harrogate will be dancing to the sounds of African jazz guitarist Lucky Ranku, from 8pm this evening. He plays at the town's Royal Hall as part of the International Festival. Tickets cost from £11. For details call the box office on (01423) 537230.
