A TEENAGE heroin addict, who stole items from pushchairs while mothers shopped, was trapped by a five-year-old, a court heard yesterday.
Nicholas Ralph, prosecuting, told Harrogate magistrates, in North Yorkshire, that Marsha Simmons took Michelle Lang's purse from a bag hanging on a pushchair.
But the five-year-old saw her take the purse, containing £125, in the town's Woolworth's store, and was able to describe 18-year-old Simmons.
Simmons, of Tennyson Avenue, Harrogate, admitted two charges of theft, one of deception and one of failing to answer bail. The hearing was adjourned until September 3 for probation and psychiatric reports.
