DETECTIVES hunting the armed robbers who shot a wealthy businessman in the head last Tuesday night have found further clues.
Peter Stephenson, 52, was wounded as he struggled with one of three intruders in the grounds of Kepwick Hall, near Thirsk, North Yorkshire.
The gang stole a car belonging to Mr Stephenson's daughter, Rachel, and sped off towards the A19. Yesterday, police said they had recovered three credit cards which had been in the silver Peugeot 206. Five credit cards have now been recovered from roadside hedges in Hilton, near Yarm. The car was found on fire last Thursday night in a lane in Stockton-on-the-Forest, near York, and is being examined by forensics experts.
